Living in FL cold weather is at a premium. I have noticed that when it is cool, 60 deg., and at night, I have a much better throttle response. I mean much better. I have a KN drop in. Would getting the whole system provide this performance year round. When it is above 70 deg, night or day, the response is noticably poorer. What do you guys think?

Colder air is denser air and therefore more Oxygen per cubit foot to burn....

On my gassers, the K&N FIPK did a GREAT job on HP...
My SOTP was at least 25HP...
in fact I still have the one off my 98 Jeep 5.9 Limited....

couldn't part with it thinking I might get another Jeep, but haven't

25hp from a intake that sucks hot air?? C'mon! I think your SOTP dyno might need recalibrated. But then again, I've never seen the intake on a Jeep. But it sounds like they must use a 2" tube with lots of U-turns.

The V10 intake is not so restrictive that an aftermarket intake will help much. ESPECIALLY one that pulls the air from under the hood. I don't really care for the almost right angle it takes after the MAFsensor but it is large enough not to present any real restrictions.

Paper flows better than most give it credit for also. Certainly more than what the engine can inhale.

Really !
I don't speak in TOO much hyperbole

but really after 100,000k miles in my stock 5.9l
sorta knew how it performed....
then added this:

http://www.kandn.com/dynocharts/57-1506.jpg

it felt like more than 25hp
