Turbo Bog WTF? Lemme explain. I am going down a back road in my home town (speed limit 50) and my X just shifts into OD (at approx. 50mph) and RPM drops to about 1000 but at the same time I punch it! The trans doesn't drop a gear, something sounds like it is bogging, mainly the turbo. I do have a super chips programmer with a level 2 program installed, level 3 being high performance. I don't know what it is, sometimes it does it on the highway too. The trans doesn't down shift! And there is no power!

Also, I figured out that if I tap my break pedal my trans automatically downshifts, and alot of times I like to do that say if I am passing someone, racing someone on the highway, or even just screwing around. Is this a bad thing to do? Can I do this just because of the programmer or does all stock X's do this?

Thanks
Luke

I guess I've never experienced that....

but you may be timing it "just right" and it confuses the tranny ??? dunno....
hope it's not a tranny or tranny control issue...
how many miles on your truck ?
Also, u might update your sig line so we know what year and model engine/tranny you have....

Someone suggested this a while back and it seems to work...
when you are cruising at steady state and you are suprised in a situation u need to go NOW...
make it second nature to hit the tow/haul button and it will give u quicker response....

good luck ,,,,

Ok is that better? DAMN that took forever!!!! I couldnt find where to change my signature I was about to give up! So anyways I emailed a couple of people on regarding my installation of a 4in turbo back exhaust so that is on the agenda early tomorrow morning I can't wait for that diesel growl. Check out my crappy site that I made a long time ago and never get a chance to update it. It's in my signature. So anyways on the topic... tomorrow when I pull the exhaust pipe off the turbo I am going to try to take a look inside and take a look at the turbo blades to make sure everything is ok. Also I am going to take pictures for everyone so they can see what was done and how hard it was. According to Magna Flow they said they recommend a professional installation due to the fact it is very hard to install. Well....... I installed a big block in my used to be 6 cylinder Nova! Infact I tore the whole car down and rebuilt it so fuck Magna Flow. Sorry was that a bit much? Oh well we will see what happens. I hope someone has some other insight to my possible problem it is weird. Maybe I will try to get some sound clips.

Ok here is a little update to the noise that I have been hearing and a possible theory. I just got back from doing a little driving and trying to diagnose the noise. The noise is made just after the transmission downshifts. It makes that bogging sound everynow and then. It almost sound like the motor's RPMs went up but the turbo hasn't spooled all the way up. Kinda like the motor is looking for the boost from the turbo but isn't getting it because the turbo needs to spool up. So that is why I get a bogging sound? I dunno.... Where are all the ASS certified mechanics?
