Hey guys,
I was watching one of the new truck shows on Speed Channel and they showed a brand new exhaust system that incorporated a special muffler with an interesting design that had a small vortex generator incorporated into it. Anybody see the show or know of the manufacturer? II can't seem to find it anywhere on the web.

Thanks,

Hey Tad,

Sounds like an aeroturbine muffler. I believe you can find them at blackclouddiesel.com.

Thats it. Looks very interesting but EXPENSIVE! Not only that but you'd think they would build a complete system. I don't really want to buy a nice stailess system and have to pitch the muffler to put one of these on. That makes it a little too pricey for my blood. You have any better ideas?

Hey Tad,

For around $60 to your delivered to your door, you could get a Walker BTM (big truck muffler) from the same site. Nice little rumble to it; and little drone inside the cab. Plus, it helps keep egt's down. As for a complete system, how much $$ you lookin' to spend? MBRP and Magnaflow are names I see tossed around alot for exhaust systems on the EX. IMHO, the best bang for the buck is the Walker BTM. Hope this helps.

Thanks Eddie,
I ordered the Walker and will have it installed by the local shop. I use the Ex to pull a large RV when the family travels and the rest of the time its Moms truck. I've already added the Ford AIS system and plan to add guages soon. I'm still trying to decide if I want to put a Banks Six Gun on her for a little more umph. I really like the six gun setup and it's fairly unabtrusive. Not really looking for crazy mods (that money goes into the 911 project).

Thanks again.

good choice on the BTM....
my 05 Ex likes it too

If you're interested in a little more umph without a lot of outlay....
just like the BTM for your exhaust....
there are many other
(better IMHO)
options than banks for less money...

Are you in a 7.3L or 6.0 ?

It's a 2001 Ex Limited 7.3 PSD> Ford AIS intake and now a walker BTM. I like the ability to change settings on the fly. I know Banks is expensive but well engineered and they stand behind the product. I'm always open to better ideas........
