I finally got the cash up and ordered some parts from Summit Racing tonight.
Firestone airbags, a level command heavy duty air system, and a Helwig rear sway bar.
The rest of the wish list, in order, is:
U front and B rear springs
Landyot Radius Rods
New shocks
I just LOVE putting new stuff on!!!!

I am really anxious to see how it tows with all of the mods done. As is right now, it tows like a wandering cow. Without towing, the X was wandering all over the place until I put the tire pressures to 70 lbs. Almost all of the wandering went away, then.
Ford, in their wonderful ideas, must have decided that 45/55 was a good balance between height of vehicle, and the limitation of rollover (a major deal to them I found as I read about tire pressures in industry articles when I had my Expedition). This leaves the tire sidewalls able to move and wander all over the place.
I tow a 31" Travel trailer that is about 6200Lb loaded. We will be trading that trailer within the next two months for a new one that will probably weigh close to 9000 loaded I want to get ALL the mods done by June. Landyot rods will be shipping before then.
We will be purchasing the Hensley Arrow hitch at the same time as the new trailer. |
