Well this is interesting.... FORD had decided to buy back my 2005 Eddie X because of an issue that I had with bad exhaust comming into the cabin at idle. Actually it was so bad that it almost killed my dog.
Well, I really dont want to give up the x.. but for a 100% buyback... hmmmmm
Well I just got this in the mail today:
Emissions recall 05E16 and Customer Satisfaction 05B32
It says that they need to update the 6.0l engine control system as related to th OBD system compliance. The included update is new engine software that will improve engine cooling system performance and reliability and reduce smoke and odor at idle. IT also says that vehicles operated in cold weather that after the update my vehicle will experience a small reduction in acceleration during the first few minutes of cold engine operation.
The other program is that the dealer with apply a new coolant fill level indicator label on the bottle and adjust the coolant level.
Maybe I can keep my X now... comments??

It doesn't sound like either of those fixes have anything to do with exhaust gases getting into the passenger compartment. I would not risk my family.

Have they not checked for exhaust leaks ?
or a heater/ac bleed door not operating properly ?
