I was told by Caltrans in California this weekend that Excursions (with 4WD AND Snow Tires) must put on Snow Chains. They said it was a Law, and that the CHP was enforcing this Law because of an accident involving an Excursion last week. Has anyone heard of this "Law" or Accident?

We keep a set of SCC Super Z6 Singles on our Excursion during the winter months.

We're heading out thru Kansas,Colorado,Southern Wyoming,Utah & Idaho in about 2 weeks and as I look back on past winter trips across the Rockies they'll be getting put to good use
