I'm considering upgrading my cloth seats in my XLT to leather. If I bought the leather seats that had the "heated" option, is the truck pre-wired so I plug in the seats and all power and heat options work? Keep in mind, the cloth XLT I have, does not have heated seats now. Very curious....thanks! |

I have installed aftermarket heated seats in many of my friends vehicles. (I recommend checkcorp.com) Since your excursion does not have heated seats it would be best if you run 15amp fused power to each seat. You can purchase most of the parts from your local autozone. If you run the heated seats off your existing power seats wiring you run the rish of blowing fuses (not to mention a fire).
There is a posibility that the excursion's may come prewired for heat but I can not confirm this. |

I'm in the process of updating my sound system and I happen to have all my seats out. I have leather in mine and the only plugs I have are for the power seat. So unless it has a unused wire in the harness I think you will have to run a seperate wire.

Charles,
The 16 subs are something that can't be explained. People just have to experience it in person. As crazy as it sounds, I'll be doing a lot of sound quality shows this year as well. I sold the spare tire box awhile back. It sounded great! It was plenty of low end for most people. If you want, I can do a write up on making one. It's real easy. Just let me know. - Bill

I was going to do either 6 of the Kicker 12L7's or 1 of the Kicker 12 X's...... Ive been out of the loop as far as for myself on car audio but get alot of stuff wholesale, Kicker, Audio Control, Pioneer, Cadence, Planet Audio, Massive and etc..... I would love to do what your doing but just dont have that kinda money right now.... Might just do the spare tire setup for now........

Sorry to hijack the thread.
No prob on the write up. I have some pics of my last install that I will have to dig up.Kicker makes some killer stuff. send me an email and I'll work with you on getting a rockin setup. There's a lot of companies that aren't mainstream that will blow away the off the shelf stuff.
