I just got through tanking up the EX. I fill it at half a tank. The previous fill-up, I re-set the trip odometer. I traveled 415 miles and used 23 gallons of diesel fuel. Two-thirds of the miles were city driving, the last third or so, freeway. EIGHTEEN MILES PER GALLON Bone stock, except for a Napa 6637 filter. Gotta love the 7.3! |

Great report! In my opinion it's all in the pedal that produces the best results

I have been very gentle on the pedal and use the cruise control to keep it at or slightly above 2k rpms. on the freeway. |

That's some good MPG. Congratulations. I get 14 mpg, strictly city driving. What size tire are you running?
Thanks,

yeppers, I could really baby the 02 7.3 Ex and coax upwards of OVER 20 mpg on the hwy....
but that was too slow and tiring for me
do know that the overhead had a tendency to be incorrect at times though so the VERY few times I really cared about my mpg I would hand calculate and be sure to fill up to the brim so there wasn't any fudge factor I missed.....
even with the 6-oh on my 03 I have gotten right @ 20 mpg on the hwy when REALLY trying
on the 05 I haven't cared enough to run a "test"
I drive too fast
