My buddy works at a Ford dealer and sent me this NEW TSB...............

TO: All U.S. Ford and Lincoln Mercury Dealers

SUBJECT: Customer Satisfaction Program 06N05
Certain 2000 Model Year Ford Excursion Vehicles
Extended Warranty - Headlamp Switch Knob

PROGRAM TERMS
This program extends the warranty coverage of the headlamp switch knob to 7 years of service from the warranty start date of the vehicle. This program provides one-time replacement coverage, and is automatically transferred to subsequent owners.

VEHICLES COVERED BY THIS PROGRAM
Certain 2000 model year Ford Excursion vehicles built at the Kentucky Truck Assembly Plant from October 31, 1999 through January 31, 2000. Affected vehicles are identified in OASIS.

REASON FOR PROVIDING ADDITIONAL COVERAGE
In some of the affected vehicles the headlamp switch knob may fracture or fall off the headlamp switch.

SERVICE ACTION
If an affected vehicle experiences this condition, dealers are to replace (one time) the headlamp switch knob at no charge to the vehicle owner. Due to the simplicity of this repair, dealers may want to consider alternatives such as installing the headlamp switch knob in the write-up lane (a small flat blade screwdriver is the only tool needed to perform this repair).

If you remember, this was a recall. Guess they closed the recall and opened this to cover the bases.
