Hi guys,

Anyone here install an add-a-leaf to the rear of their X? My X is lifted and I have 6" of blocks in the rear. I'm trying to minimize the block height. I found a set that claims 2.5" of added height but I figure with the weight of the X you'd be lucky to get 1.5". Another twist is I'm looking into some B codes for the rear which I read will increase ride height about 1". So, B codes and 1.5" of add-a-leaf may net me a max of 2.5"...I'd be stoked if I could reduce my block height from 6" to 3" or so.

Comments???

I trust you've researched enough to find most who use theBs also use bags.

I have a 2wd X and added a leaf to the rear and spring spacers to the front for about 2 1/4" of lift. Just enough lift to clear some larger tires without going too high for the wife. Wasn't real easy, but worth it. I bought them from some dealer in Canada. If you're interested, I can find out for sure. Good luck.

JR,

You gained 2 1/4" in the rear from a single add a leaf?

I'd be interested in the brand you used.

I got 2" solid from mine. It is a leaf normally used in the Rancho 6" lift for Super Duty pickups. Most just get a larger block leaving the 4-wheel drive shops with plenty of these leafs layin' around. It ended up being the new 3rd leaf down...if I remember correctly.

Exactly...third leaf down and came with new center bolts and an extra plate for the new distance. I've been looking for the last day on where I got those springs from. All I remember is they were shipped pretty cheap from Canada (western) and the customer service was great. $89 for the set of rear leaf springs. Sorry I'm not of more help...good luck.

Ok, I have a quick question, I have been tossing around the idea of V's and B's all the way around, but I dont want to drop that much coin if I dont have to. I dont want to lose any towing capacity, nor do I want to lose any height. If I got 4" rear springs, and put them right on the axle with no blocks, and did the same up front, would that in essence do the same thing as V's and B's?

I played aroud with bigger springs but the ride suffered. I now have 6" blocks with Tuff Country add-a-leafs. I run 37" Goodyear MTR's. With my home built over the axle traction bars and F-350 sway bar, she drives lik new. Oh, I also set the steering box up. That is a must after 75,,000 miles.

Thanks for the inputs, how do you set the steering box up? Ive got 102K on the clock, so maybe that is somthing that I can look into also.
