On my 4th and unfortunately last X. Have the 05 PSD. A problem with this one is the same as with the previous 3. I pull a 10,000 lb Travel Trailer with a weight distribution hitch. No matter how I adjust the hitch, the X squats more in the rear than other tow vehicles I have used; namely, a 3/4 ton Suburban and 1 ton dually. The X pulls the trailer fine with no adverse effects. I just don't like the looks of the X squatting in the rear.

I would like for the X to be level with the trailer connected.

Suggestions please.

had EXACT same situation.... driving the 3/4 ton suburban for 3 years and moved to 05 PSD...

After much research, finally just installed an "add a leaf". Rear was raised 2 " and sits totally level with my 9000 lb RV with a 1000 lb tongue weight attached.

Do you have a 4x4 or a 4x2? I have an 04 4x4 X and had the same issue. I installed Timbren Load Boosters in place of the stock yellow snubbers. I know they worked good for me but not sure on a 4x2. For me it was either those or airbags. Timbrens were cheaper and easier to install. Took about 1 hour at best. I have pix of them here:

ps. the pix in the sig is pre-Timbrens

The X has softer springs than the f250 or 350. I tow a 9500# trailer and I wouldn't even imagine doing it without airbags. Do yourself a favor and look into some. You'll be glad you did.

Thanks for the replys. I've decided to go with the airbags because I like the ability to adjust the lift according to the load being towed. I've found the Firestone airbags for about $245 and the controller for about $190. Any thoughts on these or other airbags??

Thanks again.

I have a set of Firestone air bags installed on my 3/4 ton p/up. I've had them for about 3 years and they are awesome. Just the other day I loaded a pallet and a half of cement 90 bags at 60lbs each. You do the math. The guy at Home Depot freaked out. Fortunately I didn't have to go far cause my tires were maxed out. I also bolted up a 3 gallon tank in between the airbags and compressor to hold air for either filling tires or my air horns. I hope this helps.
