If you haven't already been through it, be prepared for a $550 bill for a new water pump on the 7.3. Ouch! Just put on one at 125K. Pump was $250 and another $300 for labor and misc stuff.

Probably could've if I had the time. When ya get home from work during the middle of the week and it's spewin' antifreeze all over the place I didn't have much choice. Can't go without wheels during the week and I don't have a heated garage. I had it done at a private shop. I called a dealer before I picked it up and they quoted $489 plus 6% MI sales tax. Got to the shop and his bill was $611. I told them how much the dealer quoted it at and he was willing to almost match it.

I just did this job myself last week. I spent 109 for a pump from rockauto, along with a new serpentine belt, tensioner, billet thermo housing, 203 stat (those two from dieselsite) and hoses. Spent about 350.00 total on it. It was a bitch getting that pump out. I couldn't break the fan shaft off the old pump, so I took it to a local International dealer and they did it for me, N/C. I took my time and spent about eight total hours on it. I am glad I did it myself..

Man that sucks, Matt. That is a lot of $$. Now that you have a new pump, get you a coolant filter if you haven't already got one. I've had mine about a year now and I still get a little sediment out. The first 2 or 3 filter changes, I couldn't believe the amount of sediment that came out of the filter . Don't know that it would have caused a water pump failure, but just getting that stuff out made me feel better.
