I did a dee dee dee move on my 2000 7.3 limited 4x4!
I ran her out of fuel yesterday! I pulled the filter and replaced with a new one, I filled the filter housing with diesel. Finally got her running and she made alot of bad noises when she was trying to get going. The problem is now there seems to be a miss in the engine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it is blowing a little blue smoke and seems to not be making any bad noise just a miss. I HAVE NOT DRIVEN IT SINCE YESTERDAY! I need to get some insight on what to do!
Thanks Jickimojo |

Ugh! you ran it dry Thats about the worst thing that can happen as that introduces air to the entire fuel system. I'm gonna say there's alot of air left in the system which might take time to run out.
By the way the system is self priming, you didn't need to fill the water seperator unit.
I recognize your member name,is that you Billy?

Yeah Bill it is me!
I am so pissed at myself for letting this happen!
Is there anything I need to be looking for as far as problems that it may have caused?
Thanks Billy |

Don't know if this will work or not; open the drain on the back of the hpop, hook up a hose to extend the rigid line below the frame and into a bucket, turn on key, and let fuel pump run for a little while. Maybe that will help get the air out a little faster and smooth things out for you. Just a suggestion.

Glad to here it is runnin' right again. I agree with you on the overhead lie-o-meter. From what I've been told, it is even worse with a chip or a programmer.

So you got the air purged out of the fuel system eh Brett over in Garland was ready to come over with the code scanner to check the Excursion out and I had a cocktail ready to add to the fuel tank
If you're not too busy this Saturday lets hook up so I can check the fuel pressure on the Excursion to make sure all's good
