Got out of wrestling practice last night with my son and truck wouldn't start. Jump made no difference at all. Bought 2 new batteries and still no difference (hooked them up via jumper cables to test). Had truck towed to dealer in the morning and informed him that I had the Premium ESP coverage and to check it out. Received a call at 3:30 PM saying wire to starter is broken and that warranty won't cover it so $190 to fix wire and $90 to install 2 batteries. I asked specifically why my bumper to bumper warranty wouldn't cover a faulty wire and was told they won't ask warranty to replace entire harness so my dime for repair. I called Ford ESP and was told no call was made to them, so service writer blatantly lied to me. The service directory is out and shop foreman says Ford ESP is closed until Monday. I spoke with him at length and told him that wire broken is not my fault, no maintenance would have resolved this and it's a harness issue. He told me that if a rat chewed my harness would I want it warrantied, I asked if rats chewed my harness??? He stated that maybe a rock hit it but when pressed on repair they said they have to pull the starter to fix it.
So much for the $1500 warranty....
I want someone's butt on this one!!!
Don't go to Mel Clayton Ford in Phoenix for warranty work guys.

Interesting words from the dealer, dunno if a rock large enough could sever the starter wire in half on I-10 but who knows
My family has been purchasing their trucks from Bell Ford there in Phoenix,if the truck was drivable I'd get a second opinion personally.

Got the truck back today. They installed the batteries, changed out tail light bulb, did 3 recalls and fixed harness under my $100 warranty deductable. Even covered my rental due to the frustration.
I asked about exhaust, instant warranty void at this dealer....
