My 2000 7.3 w/ Banks 6 gun, CAI, and turbo back big exhaust. Cold temp start up drive approx. 1 block and it acts like someone turns off the key. Lots of white smoke and no power until dead. Tow back to house and plug in and put heater on fuel filter and in 1 hr she starts and runs fine. Last time it happened I had antifreeze additive in fuel and it was 45 degrees outside. I let sit in road and cycled glow plugs 5 times and it restarted. What the hell is wrong. |

I do not have a diesel--however a friend of mine had a 7.3 that would suddenly cut off. It was some sort of cam positioning sensor---that's paraphrased as best I remember the part name. It also would not necessarily throw a code..might be an idea.
