I have been running 285 BFG TKO's in Load Range D for a few years now on our Excursion with no issues towing and non towing.

The Load Range E is somewhat tougher to find but that'll be our choice when it's time for a new set of TKO's

Just make sure the tire load capacity that is on the sidewall of the new tires is enough to support the GVWR of your truck. Not all Ds are rated the same.

i went back with the steeltex on my truck F350 lariat because i got 68000 trouble free miles. i rotated every 5000 miles. i took the factory pirrelli's off my excursion at 42000 miles because they were shot and replaced with the steeltex's. i have put about 15000 miles on them with no problems but still rotate every 5000 miles. and i get to keep my E load.
just my opinion.

Personally I like my Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo's they are a sharp looking tire and ride nice and are a high load E range I believe.

Not to turn this into a REVO thread but I'm on my second set. I had them on my 03 Expy and they are also on my wife's Avalanche. They are a GREAT tire!

They'll be the tire that replaces these Pirellis when they go even though I have a 2WD.

You have the Bridgestones as well? I was looking at the Pirelli and I wanted them so bad and the local tire shop didnt carry them or I had to wait a week and they were more expensive than online so I had to make a decision and got the Revo's. WHAT A CHOICE. Granted I am only 2WD also but the tire is amazing, it looks great, drives great and has a high E rating as I stated above. I agree with ya!

Not on this Excursion. The stock Pirellis are still on it. Some report crappy performance from them but they haven't given me any trouble in 18K. The REVOS are currently on my wife's Chevy Avalanche. They are the only thing I like about the truck besides the icechests built into the sides of the bed.
