Hi. I have a 2000 Limited that came with the cd/cassette and the changer in the console. I purchased the newest radio that has the built-in 6 disc, a SAT button and an AUX button. I have my XM Direct hooked to the back, and it works perfectly through the SAT button. I want to use the AUX button for my entertainment audio, but no one (blitzsafe, PIE or anyone else) list an AUX adapter for this radio when already using the SAT button. I am currently using a FM modulator, but the sound is horrible (compared to an AUX adapter) and I prefer the more "factory" operation of using the assigned buttons. Does anyone know how I can hook to my AUX button without interfering with my SAT button? Is there some kind of "splitter" that may have come with whatever vehicle this radio would fit? If someone has a way to search based upon the number on the side of the radio, I can pull it out and get that. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

RedEx,

I'm interested in doing this as well. What year model is the unit you purchased? How does the sat radio connect to the unit? Do you still need a separate head unit for the satellite radio or does the new radio control the satellite like it is built in?

I assume by your question that there is no separate AUX input, that the there is one input and you can access it by pushing either the AUX or SAT buttons.

Thanks

Shannon,

First, please forgive my lack of technical terms when responding. I don't know all the names of the parts, so I will try to describe them well.

I am not sure of the radio year. I would have to guess it is a 2006 model, since when I called several Dealers, the model number did not come up in any of their documentation (last call was about 2 months ago). If it helps, I will pull the radio out and get the number off the side. It plugged right in, and everything seems to work well, including the rear controls. It looks exactly like the one on ebay now under item number 8061044757.

I have an XM Sattelite radio installed. I am using the XMDirect kit for the newest ford radio, which plugs in the back of the stereo where the changer/rear control wiring plugs in. The wiring still going to the changer/rear control then plugs into the harness from the XM Direct. Since I installed the 6 disc in-dash unit, I removed the console mounted changer. I would assume it wouldn't work with this radio anyway. The installation works perfectly, and I control my XM right through the radio, just as if it were a factory Sirius unit. Display shows the same too. You just push the "text" button to scrole from song name to station name or artist name.

There is no seperate input for Aux. I believe it would use another set of wires on the changer/rear control harness. When I press Sat, my XM works, when I press Aux, I get something that basically says nothing is attached. When researching, I noticed a couple newer set-ups on ebay that looked like they have some kind of "splitter" to allow the rear seat entertainment and a satellite radio to attach, but I haven't had any other luck finding it.

I hope that answers your questions!
