You're A-OK CHP!!!

I think my EXC will soon have the same Tymar mod!! Two more questions, if you don't mind:

1. You mentioned more turbo whine (which is coooolll) but, is theer a lot more intake noise or "roar" without the stock box?? My '81 Rabbit 1.6 diesel makes a lot more noise with the snorkel pipe removed but the mileage goes from 41 to 43mpg. The roar is deep and "basso"!

2. Does the box removal affect the battery mounts or are they independent of the box?

3. Did you remove the snorkel to the grill?

THANKS AGAIN!!!!
Ciao, Greg / Godfather

Greg I wouldn't say there isn't "alot" more noise but it sure sounds good at least to my ears
I didn't remove the battery box,all that comes off is the lid and a slight trimming of the base as shown in the how-to.

The air intake tubing remained intact but I did cut a hole in front of the intake tube opening to permit air to enter without obstruction.

I might be a little late on this.
Put my Walker BTM on last week. Sound wise could not tell a difrence. Perfomace wise holy crap.
I pull a 6000lb trailer and I got almost a hole more MPG on a 360 mile trip.

The BTM unbelievably frees up the exhaust flow over the stock muffler

Just wondering what is the difference in sound level between BTM and a straight pipe.

Thanks,
Norman

The BTM has a controlled deep tone almost like an exhaust from MBRP and the straight pipe is loud and raspy, not exactly neighbor friendly
