Needing to put one in.

What to get?

And is it a DIY job? I have the factory 7 plug in the back. There is a wire harness on the firewall too

Pretty much DIY. Get a Tekonsha Prodigy and the correct harness from Tekonsha and install.

Hi

Just as the previous post said, get a Prodigy and the adapter harness , plug and play!

The adapter harness simply plugs in up behind the lower dash panel, near the back side of the radio, not alway's the easiest to see or find , but it will be there!

thanks guys
I see the wires on top of the fuse panel on the drivers side firewall, well at least I am assuming these four are for the brake controller.
I will look up under the dash

BTW, this is a 2000 V10 Limited in case anything has changed on this

did some reading on this unit.
It will not work for my future plans

I am looking at upgrading my Boat trailer brakes from Surge Hydraulic to Electric over Hydraulic and the Prodigy sites states this will not control that type

Hi

Don't concern yourself with the four wires up by the fuse panel at the firewall, everything you need is inside by the left hand rear corner of your radio, square lt grey electrical plug. If you buy the prodigy and the correct adapter harnes it's a 10 minuete install, easiest DIY project you'll ever do!

listen to Jay, about using the plug-in located in the area behind the radio.

The four customer usage wires near the fuse panel are for a different purpose entirely and won't help you with your brake controller.
