I feel compelled to boast about my 2001 V10 X which just successfully completed a 79650 mile trip across America. Oh yea, it now has almost 115000 miles. Changed the oil in California and only added one quart of oil during the entire trip. Transmission temp gauge reached 220 degrees while climbing mountains, occasionally running 5500 rpm's. Outside temp was about 85 to 90 degrees. I was very pleased. Regular trans fluid and 5w20 Mobile1 for the engine. Oh yea, all this while towing a 30 ft 8000 lb camper. The month off from work was great. Returning to work sucks.

I double checked with the wife. It was 7,992 miles form start to finish.

Sounds like you had fun. I've driven across the USA three times, and the X is by far the most comfortable ride. |

I know this is an older post, but it makes me feel good as i will be towing a 31' 7000lb or so Airstream for three to four weeks up and down the East Coast in a few months. Last time i towed it i got 14-15 MPG cruising at 60. |
