Finally I got that SOB.I had to take off all the screws for the large panel where the cup holder,cigg lighter and all that is then pry it up some what ( i couldnt finger out how to remove it fully,Im an aircraft mech not a truck one) then found it locate don the firewall upsdie down.5 big numbers just liek you said, tried em and what do you know it works.Thanks to al who helped.Now I gotta put it all back together. |

Yea early AM was just after my lunch break, workin nights suck.I was getting a little leary , had read a bunch of posts about it doesnt exest and so forth.I hate my dealer and avoid them at all cost. |

Took the radio out and looked under bottom of dash on my 2000 X. coldnt see the vsm. Please help with some more detail please. |

Dont do the radio it didnt help me at all.What ya do is take out the screws for the big plastic panel that is directly below the raio, well have a cigg lighter and some other crap on it.I am not Ford savy so I didnt get the panel all the way off, just pull it back then once back and can get a light in there, from the drivers side lie on your back and look forward to the firewall.The VSM is a black box and the 5 digit code will be on it, with fairly large numbers.Mine was upide down.CHP has a link to a pic of the VSM. |
