Board,
My Ex is locaed in NM and since the weather turned cold recently I've noticed that the mice are getting into the Ex despite there being a 4" lift.
Any ideas on how to keep them out? The must be entering via the engine compartment and through the vent which gives them access to the interior of the vehicle.

I was going to suggest stuffing steel wool into the openings 'cause mice won't chew on that, BUT it's not a logical choice for a motor vehicle due to wet conditions and the onset of rust.
I have also heard mothballs were effective. Whatever you do, get those mice out of there. They'll build a nest inside your vehicle using material that's nearby ... carpet, insulation, etc. I don't know why, but they also like to chew the insulation on wires ... which could cause a lot of headaches for you.
Do you like cats? Keep one in the garage ... and keep it a little hungry. |

Bowden, you might want to verify that the HVAC is indeed their entry point. You can always put the AC control on MAX (recirculate). This will close the door to prevent them from getting into the cabin.
I find it hard to imagine that they can get through the air vent under the wipers. That's where the HVAC takes in the air. But then again, I don't how big the mice are either...
Putting mothballs in there (the HVAC intake) sure is gonna make your truck smell like my Grandmother's house.
