When I got my new tires installed a month or so ago at 40K I noticed that the pads were getting thin.

I was planning on ordering the new EBC Yellow pads, but put it off.

On my way to drop the kids at school yesterday I heard/felt a backing plate touch the rotor, oops! 43K original miles on stock pads.

It was the inside right pad, of course the one you can't easily inspect...

So I needed the new pads immediately.

I drove down to the local Pep-Boys in my Pathfinder, just planning on getting some stock-type replacements for now.

Much to my delight I discovered that Pep Boys now carries EBC Brakes!

Yah!

They don't have the top-of-the-line yellows in yet, so i settled for
the still excellent Greens.

DP61308 $79.99

A quick 1/2 hour later and I was out bedding in the new pads.

They are still breaking in, but I could tell today, after about 20 miles, that the new pads make a very noticable improvement over stock, when I first apply the brakes the initial "bite" is more positive.

Nice. From all accounts they should just get better and better,
and the Ex certainly could use more stopping power than stock.

Thanks for the Pep Boys lead & part number. Just turned 43K on my '05. However, all of my pads looked to still be good when I rotated the tires (front to rear) a couple weeks ago. Do you suppose your caliper might be sticking a bit, and that would cause the inside pad to wear faster than the outer?

I don't think they are sticking, the "offending" pad was just barely more worn, and on the right side which typically wears faster as it is on the low side with more weight on it.

The pads also have two pretty stiff wire springs that push them apart all the time to keep 'em off the rotor...

I shoulda changed 'em out when I had the 315's installed...

I just recently did pads and rotors and up till now ( low on funds) had them done. I never knew how easy it was. I feel like a dumba$$ for spending the money to have a shop do it. Next time I'll go with some nice rotors.
