Is there any scheduled or reccomended mileage to change the timing chain on a V-10. I am at 95k and doing great but I prefer to, as my service guy at Ford says, "overmaintain". What can I say, the X is my child and it get's the best!

There are 2 timing chains in the triton engines. As with all internal components in most engines, the timing chains would need replacement only after they have shown an amount of stretch that is out of spec.

Aside from that, the chains in the v-10 should be good to go for at LEAST 200 thousand miles. These chains are not like the chains used in the 70's and before. They have much better alloys and lubrication.

Keep up the oil changes, replace the thermostat every 100k miles or so, keep the coolant system flushed and filled, and you should have no problems from the chains
