So i have about 124 on the clock and I was starting to feel the tranny slip, so we took it in for service and there is shavings all through the pan. I respect my tranny guy on his thoughts. he gave a tear into price but also said to save the time and money untill its gone.
I have access to a perfectly good tranny from an 01 5.4 4x4 150 S-crew. Does anyone know if this is the same tranny that would go into an 00 4x4 v10 X.
I'm a beliver in free for now parts and will spend a weekend doing a swap just to prolong the idea of a new tranny.
Any thoughts?

The torque from the diesel might screw up a gas trans. They are not built as strong. Not even sure if the trans are the same. I am a cheapskate myself. I prefer to do it right the first time so I don't have to do it again. I'd go with a BTS trans

both are gas. under normal thoughts I would but sometimes one has to get by for a bit. The need for new trans came a little quicker then expected.
