I took my X in for it's first oil change on Monday. While there, the tech asked me to come down and take a look. There was a minor leak at the front of the transmission. It was leaking down the front of the trans, and flowing back to the pan drain plug. It still read full on the dipstick, while hot, so I have not taken it to Ford yet. I plan on putting it in the shop this week, to have this looked at.
My question:
Is this a recurring or problematic issue with the X?
Or
Is this a common issue between the Triton 5.4L and the 4D100 Trans?
Either way, Ford will fix this under warranty, as the truck now has 3400 miles on it.

Wouldn't know if it's recurring or not but I haven't had a problem with that yet. However, I did have a leak between the tranny and the transfer case.
Good luck!

Ford actually stepped up to the plate, and fixed my transmission. The front seal of the torque converter was bad from the factory. The dealer replaced the seal, and flushed the transmission and cooler lines before reassembling it.
They even got me a free, yes I said free, rental truck, while mine was being repaired. I do not have the EXP warranty yet, so I did not have any rental coverage during factory warranty repairs.
It is shifting a little harder since the work, but it might just be loosening up a bit.

Could it be that there are some good dealerships around?
