OK - I've searched here and other sites for a definitive answer to no end.
I have an 01 X with fogs and the switch pulls out inthe parking light position, but the fogs only activate with the headlights. Every post I have read only offers a jumper solution that makes the fogs come on with the parking lights always, making the pull switch non-functional.
I found many posts where people said they were looking in to the problem and a solution, but never post back with what they found. So has anyone found a way to make the 01 switch work like all of the other models?

I'm looking for the one mod where you grind a notch off the back of the knob to allow independent fog lamp operation.

My '01 V10 Limited was like that ... fogs on only with low beams. However, my '05 EB allows the fogs to come on with the parking lights by pulling out the knob. I can run; parks only ... parks & fogs ... parks & lows ... parks, lows & fogs ... or ... parks & highs.
I have the '01 factory wiring diagrams, but not the '05. It may be a matter of swapping out the dashboard switch for an '05. I do not know if other model years work like my '05, but you could ask a dealer's parts guy to run the switch in their system and see if the part number changed somewhere along the line. |

Just be aware that there are states, like Virginia, where it is a violation to drive with the fogs on without the headlights being on. I do not know about NC.

Yep! That's true here.  Thanks for the reminder. Also, one cannot drive about on military bases with only the parking lights burning. Low beams must be burning with them. |
