The vent had to have gotten relocated elsewhere on the body as you need flow thru on these trucks just like the SuperDuty trucks.

Hey guys, I have had Sirius for about a year and a half (love it) and when I had it installed the guy put the antenna in the right side of the front windshield (passenger side) and everything works great. No reason to have it outside. For one, I don;t need to advertise that I have it, had a few friends that had it stolen from their truck. Second, it works just fine reception wise. I'm thinking of relocating it to the center of the dash, there is a spot where the antenna fits perfect, like it was meant to be there, I'll take a few pics and post 'em later.

Could always drill a small hole run the wire lead thru pop a rubber grommet in around the wire and seal it in the same placement as the weather plug on our 02.

We had the antenna on the front center of the dash next to the lights on sentinel and it just didn't receive all that well for us,moved it outside then it all cleared up,even the terrestrial repeaters came in alot better when in the concrete jungles.

Thanks to everyone, I finally got a chance to install the new antenna today. I routed it through the rubber plug and underneath the headliner, then down the pillar post.

We'll see how this one works. According the Circuit City, Sirius has had an inordinate number of failures on these antennas and has changed manufacturers.

Thanks again. It's now... time
