My 05X has been spinning slowly each morning for a couple of months and would not start this morning. Went to check the batterys water and discovered that I must remove the battery cables from the driver's side battery to remove a cover.
I can see no reason for this cover and am thinking about just discarding it. Any thoughts or ideas??????????
The batteries did not require any water and the connections are all good. I charged them overnight and checked the SG and all cells are good. Because the batteries are only 1 1/2 years old, I assume I have excessive current draw. I am aware of the rear door switch problem but my interior lights are never on
Any thoughts or ideas???????????
Thanks in advance..
Update: Just checked the current draw. 0.4A from the passenger-side battery and 1.2A from the driver-side battery with nothing on. Sounds excessive to me. Still in warranty so calling the dealer on Monday. |

What ever came of the battery problem? I have my Ex in the shop today for the very same issue.
I am hoping they can fix it! You never know with the stealer. I was at 35,900 miles, so I thought I better bring it in while it was still under warranty.
I will post whatever I hear back from Ford today.
*** UPDATE***
I just got a call from FORD, they had to replace the batteries.

Opps. Sorry about the slow response. My stealer did find a bad battery and replaced it at no charge to me. She is now spinning like new!
Also, my stealer said that the batteries are maintenance free even though they have a cover for the cells...... I don't understand that but accept their statement.
