Will it fit? That eBay item looks like a double-DIN, and I've heard the X is 1-1/2 DIN. Assuming the electrical connections can be made ... meaning, the unit gets all the feeds it requires ... why not? Let us know what you end up doing.
EDIT TO ADD: Whoa! I just double-checked, and the bidding is up to $710 !!!!! Though it wouldn't be integral to the in-dash unit, wouldn't getting a separate GPS unit be less expensive? And simpler to install? |

Thanks guys for the input, going to do a little more research on fitment. If it is easy to just plug and play then I'm going for it; I'll have my Sirius, GPS, touch screen and THX sound all in one with steering wheel controls...gotta love that. If it is problem to fit and not compatible, then I'm going for a custom built install, that I put together myself...Put in a car computer with TV, computer, GPS etc....i'll let you know what I find out. |

Hey David,
Thanks for the links, great info...but to be honest, I really don't like the look or functionality (small screen) of any of these. And you're right, it looks like the newer oem is bigger, I may be better off with just a custom job....anyone have experience with installing a carputer in their X? |
