I have to take my Ex in for service this week and everytime I bring it to Ford they give me a hassle about getting the reflash recall done. I have always told them "NO"

What are the feeling about getting this done. I have an '05 with the 6.0 and 35,000 miles on it. Completely stock.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I too have an Excursion , a 2003, 6.0, 43,000 miles, with the original programming. Every time I go in, I am pressured to have the code reflashed as well. What is the down side/up side of having the computer reflashed? No one can tell me what changes to expect after the reflash.

My 05 Ex has the "Buzz" flash - think it is the one before the latest...

NO problems for me other the the lunancy of the injectors buzzing to empty after shutdown...

I do want to get the latest where they just heat the injectors to "clear" them after shutdown....

good luck !

The dealer fixed my problem that I brought the X in for, and also took care of the recalls for me, all without even calling me!

When I went to pick it up I let the GM and the Service Mgr know all about it! I am sure I looked just like this guy

They hopped around telling me that they had to do it or Ford wouldn't pay the warranty claim, and if something else happened to the truck they would void my warranty because I declined the recall.

Which is all very interesting because the truck has been to two other stealers in Houston and I have declined the recall at both, and to my knowledge Ford paid their claims.

Anyway, the good news is that I really haven't noticed any changes. Although I have not ran a throught a tank of diesel yet, to check the mileage. So far so good!
