I just got an 01 X and I am looking to upgrade the intake system to a FIPK kit and slapping a set of headers and a more free flowing exhaust most likely FLOWMASTER...........will this money be well spend or will I be throwing it away............I have read several posts on here and they start out as V-10 topic based questions and somehow end up focusing on the powerstroke!!!!!
Please help anyone who may have these additions on their X and how you like the sound and performance changes
JUST LOOKING FOR SOME INPUT
Oh and my x has 113K on the ticker!!
Thanks

In my experience you'll get more gains and for less money with a tuner than you will with an intake, headers and exhaust. Nothing wrong with those mods 'cept maybe for the intake. I'm not much into them anymore. They draw hot underhood air in, don't filter as well and don't really improve anything as the stock intake can flow more than enough air for the V10 at redline and WOT.
My Banks exhaust and Y-pipe change helped but I still won't win many drags races. But it was all relatively cheap and I like the 4" tip.
Check out the V10 forum over at www.ford-trucks.com. It's the best (and only) V10 forum on the planet.
