WHAT IS THE BEST CHIP OR TUNER FOR TOWING AND MILEAGE?2003 X WITH 7.3 2WD 48,000 MILES TOWING 6000 LBS. HAVE A K&N STOCK REPLACEMENT FILTER AND PLAN ON PUTTING A WALKER BTM . THANKS RICKY  |

I've had a SuperChipsMicroTuner 1700 on our '02 since we bought in new and has worked well everyday. I'll be looking into a Tony Wildman chip in 08 after we get the transmission rebuilt by Brians Truck Shop.
We had a BTM on the Excursion for a few years and it also performed well till we installed a Magnaflow 4" system in 2006 which is awesome.

The DP Tuner has the best reputation. You have the K&N filter on and you should definitely do a turbo back exhaust as well.
Personally, I am using a Edge Evolution stacked with a an Edge Juice with Attitude mainly because I go a great deal. They work extremely well with the EVo set in two and the the Juice with attiutude you can move between 1 (Mileage), 2 (Tow) or 3 (Drive).....Mileage is the best on the highway but you may find you want two or drive for around town for a little btter pick up.
If I'm feeling like embarassing the kids in their hopped up Japanese cars, I set it for Extreme on both and leave them behind is a cloud of black smoke.
BTW, make sure you get the transmission checked out....these extra torque from any of these mods it tough on the torque converter. I blew mine and had it replaced with a F-550 dual clutch converter. It shifts a bit harder but it is much tougher without going big bucks for a billet converter.
