Hey everyone,
New to forum, have read though alot of the posts here and I'm really not getting a feel for what the best setup is for all around suspenstion upgrades. I am now looking for a low mileage 7.3 with the right options, will only concider a clean non modified vehical. dont want to have to undo someones mess. when i find the right X for me, I would like to have a feel for the cost of the modifacation that i will be doing. first I live In Colorado and will be in the mud and snow and the ROCKS... most of the year, hunting fishing camping, It will see the outdoors I promise. Just love the size of the X but do have my concerns as to where i will be able to take the monster. will be towing boat, ATV"s, backhoe, ect so i really need a set up that will give me good clearance and keep the thing ready to head down the highway to lake powell. want to keep the ride quality good. and I dont want a step ladder to get in it ether. Also I plan to put on a warn front bumper with grill gard and winch and would like to know if any one has this bumper and what they think about it. and sugested size of winch that will do the job right. also would like to hear of any mods to rear bumper dont want to drag the thing evertime we go down though a creek bottom. We live in the mountains and do are part to keep the deer population down, so I'm hoping that this is a heavy duty rammer.. or the front of the X will soon be flat..
Thanks for all input and sugestions that you have |

I've got a 8" lift and 38x13.5x20 Toyos on mine and it will go most anywhere. IF you don't mind the nails on the chalkboard sound of branches scraping down the sides and top on some of the tighter trails. I've got plans for a mild exo skeleton on the X , some fabbed up bumpers, auxilary lighting positioned so they won't be broken off and a rhino lined interior. good luck in colorado. Pics show the 41x13.5xR20 Michelins I had on there.
Here is a video of my X "gettin it done" doing a little logging.
