MUST RESIST THE URGE TO BUY WHEELS! Especially in today's economy. However, in addition to drooling over the 20" wheels shown above, I've found the same wheels in a King Ranch version ... and they have the inset areas painted Arizona Beige which will match my trim (my '05 looks just like Bob's above, except I don't have the fancy headlights).

Very funny!

I'll buy a set after I sell my GT40 kit car. In the meantime, I've looked at various wheel spacers. I found a few 2" thick hub-centric aluminum spaces for the front hubs on eBay, but I'm curious about the rear spacers. I looked at the wheeladapters.com website, but could not determine if his spacers are hub-centric. Can you tell me, Bob? There's not a whole lot of room around the hubs at the rear. Thanks in advance!

The adapters I use (as well as other "20 Club" members, Monsta, High1 and Jbietenholz) are from Fred G. at wheelspacers.com (or wheeladapters.com). High and I have aluminum, Monsta & JB have steel.

I usually read posts on FTE and here regarding OEM 20's and wheelspacers... the majority of posts relating to spacers from ebay often come up negative (unless it is a purchase from Fred G. through ebay).

There is no difference in front & rear application... and yes they are hubcentric. They are TOP OF THE LINE product... best of the best. Just like the workmanship you put in your RRs.

BTW... I still haven't installed my RR's yet... My sons are becoming quite active in sports and such therefore weekends lend little time for "Mods"...

...I will find the time this Easter break to install the RR's though... I've already informed my social calendar director (my wife ) that the box in the basement has my name on it for a day of fun under the X. I can not wait to install them... along with the RAS and 20's, my X will handle like a GT40.

You think??

This is My Ride and I'm very new to the Forum so I'm trying to figure out if spacers will do the job on my X or do you all highly recommend something else. I went to a place called Metro wheels and they advised me to put the spacers in. My ride drives very smooth so I'm looking for more knowledge here.

Oh and if someone could tell me how to setup a signature like you all seem to have

XcursME,

I'd be glad to help you out... I just read your bio and see that the wheels are Harley D 20 inchers.

Looking at your posted pic, it looks like your rear wheels are a bit "inboard"... you got some "rub" issues? If your rears rub then, for sure your fronts rub without the use of spacer/adapters.

Since they came from a 05/06/07/08 SuperDuty truck then you must use 2 inch hubcentric adapters to bring the wheel out away from the frame...

The spacer/adapters we (the OEM 20 Club) run are from Fred G. at wheelspacers.com... the spacers cost a bit, but they ARE the BEST on the market!!!

Here is an excellent thread that has pics of the spacer/adapter you need:

BTW... Welcome!!!

Thanx for the info.
I am gonna look into buying this asap.
I have slight rub in the front, but no rub in the back. How is the handling with the 2 in spacers?

BTW: Like the ride!

Thanks for that link with the photos of the spacers. That pretty much makes the decision for me in that I would order the steel version in lieu of aluminum.

Now without having performed a search, I'll ask if any of you "OEM 20 Club" members bothered to get the speedometer recalibrated? My assumption is that a dealer can do that for whatever price is negotiated.

Before I mounted by OEM 20's I was going to purchase this:

http://www.superchips.com/products.php?p_cat=95&cname=Ford+Applications

It is a SuperChips Tirepaq... A programer used to recalibrate your speedo.

Between the time I bought my 20's and mounted the wheels, Santa came and left me a ScanGaugeII... The SGII has a mode you can recalibrate the MPH reading on the SGII to account for larger or smaller than OEM tire diameter, I was too cheap to buy the Tirepaq since the SGII could do the trick.

Well... I never did use my SGII to deal with the incorrect speedo reading when the 20's are mounted. I usually don't drive with my foot to the floor due to my precious cargo and I figured the difference was around 5-7 mph low...

On the positive side, the mileage recorded on the odometer is actually less than traveled.

Here's a neat site you can fiddle with regarding tire/wheel sizing and such...

Hey XcursME, Thanks for the compliment... I see you "GOT3SONS" too!!
And... Your seat covers are very nice!!! I really like the "King Ranch" flavor the dark inserts lend to them.

Hi,
I have an 01 X and am new to the forum but I'm interested in putting the oem 20"s on my car. Just one question......I went looking for a set f these rims an found the lowest price I could get four for was about $900. A friend of mine told me I can get a brand new set of 22" for less than the factory OEMs. Is there any cheaper place to get these rims? Has anybody ever put 22" wheels on their truck and did they experience any problems?
