Sorry for a question that I see asked over and over. I just can't seem to find a difinitive answer.
I have a stock 2005 Excursion v10 4x4. I have chosen a set of aluminum rims which are 18" by 8".
I'd like to maximize tire size without going overboard. A bit bigger/wider is what I'm after. Am I wrong in assuming 285/70R18 or is it 285/75 (or 295 70/75/65/??????? I'm going crazy here. It shouldn't be this difficult! The rims are pictured in a link in my other thread "new here, wheel question" thread (about three or four posts below this one)
Thanks!

What's your question? Are you asking if the 285's on the 18x8 rims will fit? They will...however, it depends on the offset of the wheel. If you are looking at those 18" OEM wheels then, yes, go with the 285's. That'll be a nice setup!
You'll more than likely be going with a 285/65R18E. Those are an inch more in diameter than stock and of course are wider. Make sure you get load range E if possible. I took a peek over at Tirerack.com and found two tires in 285/65R18E
BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO - Nice tire. Cheaper than the Michelins below.
Michelin LTX A/T 2 - What I have on mine.

Thanks for the help!!! Yes, I am going with those OEM 18's. It was the tire size I was stuck on. I'll check out those tires on tirerack now.
I'll get some pictures up as soon as everything in in place Thanks again!
