Newbie here, lurking for a while. specs:
2001 limited
V10
4x4
158000 miles
No upgrades, yet
Ive been very happy with my mostly stock X but.....Ihave the same handling issues as everyone else.
I was going to order a set of landyots but I cant weld, so thats out! After "X"-tensive research It seems to me that all the helper springs, rods, bags and bars are band-aids. Im thinking of scraping the stock springs, all of them and replacing them. I have some questions.
I dont want to lift this truck more than oem, so the bevy of lift kits are out and I do tow a 7500# camper troughout New England during the summer and fall. Can I purchase stock f250 or f350 springs and bolt in? What codes should I look for? Im not looking for the cush ride this truck originally had but I dont want a bone jarring ride either. I have owned f250's in the past and didnt have a problem with the rid. Any help is appreciated. Am I on the right track by swapping the springs? |

You're on the right track by replacing springs but new, higher rated springs WILL create a higher ride height. Most popular and well documented is the V front and B-code rears.
Personally, I think add-a-leafs all the way around are cheaper and just as effective.
