I have 2000 Excursion V10. 90% of the time when i start it, it idles fine but sometime it wont idle when its cold. If you hold the gas peddle down just enough to give it RPM,s until its warm idles fine has any one else had this problem any suggestions. has 95000 miles motor and transmission are stock.

You might want to take off the Idle Air Control valve and either clean or replace it if need be. It's up on top of the intake. I replaced the one in my son's Explorer in 20 min. I looked where this one was on t he X and decided to let the dealer replace it because I wasn't it the mood to crawl that far back on the engine. It's not a difficult thing to do technicaly, you just have to get some things out of the way to get to it. There should be some threads on here about replacement but I'd bet money that's what it is. It happens to be the #1 repair code at my dealership so they told me.
