Well, I had to have the rear glass window replaced on the X yesterday due to it shattering the day before that. I was curious if anyone has ever had it replaced. The glass service guy told me since they don't make the X any more, that piece of glass isn't cheap and you can only get it from Safelite who he said makes glass for Ford.
Rear glass $618 (service guy told me their cost on it was $540)
Labor $135
Plus Tax.
Anyone ever had it replaced and seen the bill for it? I went with the glass company who could get it done the quickest, and now I have to deal with my insurance company since they wanted me to go with a company that would of taken a few days before they could get to it.

I can't say if that is a good price, but it sounds better than the $1,100 I've heard others pay. |

That's about right. I unfortunately tipped my lifted one on it's side last august when we were on some trails. Got a little crazy with it....lol Blew out the driver's window, rear side window and the back window when the branch it landed on snapped up and smacked it. I found a salvaged Excursion here in town and was able to get the two side windows but the back one hit me at about $700 installed.
My regular one I drive had the glass replaced in it before I bought it. I know this because there's still little pieces of glass falling out of the door even after owning it for four years. After having to close this thing kinda hard sometimes to make the dome lights shut off I always worry about having mine shatter on me. |

I have replaced three. First on in about 2001. Cost State Farm $1900. I could not believe it.
The next two were about $700.
I found the problem to be rocks from the rear tires hitting the trailer I was towing and breaking the rear glass.
I now have mudflaps when towing and not problems since. |
