Has anyone ever rebuilt their brake calipers on their Ex or should I just get reman calipers and not mess with rebuilding them? The bottom of my piston cups have a good 3/8'' inch of rust built up in them so I would guess they will need pistons also? Thanks for any advice. |

I bought a pair of remans from Checker Auto and they had a nice gold color coating on them. Reasonable too. Don't bother with doing it yourself unless you have nothing better to do

I have spent the time to rebuild the calipers on my old GT40 kit car. Given the option, I will buy rebuilt calipers. Why? The biggest issue I had to deal with was trying to clean everything during the rebuild. Time consuming and messy. The commercial rebuilders clean them en masse, and have purpose-built facilities for doing such. While spending a few hours rebuilding mine, it quickly became apparent this was not an efficient use of my time. |
