Excursion Man,
You betcha! Two batteries wired in parallel (still 12V) to get enough amps (lotsa!) to turn that big puppy over.
Hope this helps.

Has anyone added a second battery to a V-10 X if so where? Keep in mind I haven't really looked under the hood to evaluate the situation. |

Excursion Man, my two are located at the front of the engine compartment on either side. One is wrapped in a foam blanket, the other is surrounded by an airbox so the air cools it on the way to the air filter.
Never have seen an aircooled battery before. Kind of a scary concept as my kids would say. I'm sure the battery stays nice & cool, but the airflow.....?!
Hope this answers your question.

Why would you install two batteries in a V10 Ex? I am eventually going to add a large power inverter, and a large powered cooler for trips, picnics etc.
Do folks use two batteries on the gas models to power things like the above when the X is not running? For example, I may want to leave the powered cooler running and plugged into the factory power plug while we are in a amusement park for a few hours on a hot day before coming back out to have lunch.
Is two batterires the solution? If not what does two batteries solve? How have you all handled similar scenarios.

for what you are talking about Cool...
I would suggest a marine battery that is isolated from the auto circuit....
(except for charging, of course)
a deep cycle marine battery is meant for low amp slow disharge,
whereas an auto battery is designed for HIGH amp quick discharge....
BUT, most marine batteries do not like high charge rates either...
Another BUT... if you're going to turn it into a motorhome....
get a small gen set that can let the a/c run as well as charge the battery

Ok you will have to go slow with me here...I am new to the electrical area. Does this mean I would have two batteries or one?

So again...what are you saying? Do I need a marine battery or not? Or are you saying I do but it needs to be hooked up differently?

Ok what specifically would I need to do? Please walk me through step by step what I would need to buy and have someone do to accomplish running a few things off of one or more batteries? What is a "small gen set"? I assume it is a generator but that is all I know...

Ok - here goes the best I can do with a quick scan right now...
best idea would be to look at some RV sites - they have the right ideas there....
Have you had a motorhome or trailer ?
they basically have two electrical circuits - and two or more batteries...
at least one :"auto" battery for the engine and at least one "marine" battery for the "coach"...
All the coach lights, etc..
are 12v but run off the marine battery only which is a deep cycle battery that is used on boats(Dooh
there is an isolated circuit that charges the batteries either when plugged into 110V or from a generator or from the engine... the two cirucuits are only connected so the marine battery can be charged....
Have a Camping World dealer near you? they or just about any reputable rv dealer can probably explain it better AND give you a fair idea of what it would cost....
good luck !
