I have been looking into this mod on another website, this seams to be a really cost effective way to get some additional power.
I have talked to my local Ford Mechanic about the homemade Tymar mod(removing the stock air box and replacing it with a larg round airlter from Napa) and his advice is to not do this. His comments are the turbo stall after reving up becomes very noisy. He has done the ZooDad mod to his truck ( cutting a pir of three inch holes by the airbox inlet) and is quite pleased with its performance.
I am getting ready to add a 4" exhause and am already running the SCMT 80hp program. I tow a 9000lbs trailer, and want to get this beast to breath as much as possible with the new pipes.
I also thinking/ wondering if I will need to change programs when I tow the TT.
I guess the real question is the turbo stall a bad thing?
Is the ZooDad mod a better idea?

Definetly go to the 60 HP program when you're towing... and even then watch for overheating... the EGT's will probably skyrocket...

Even with the 4" exhaust, drop your towing to the 60hp mode since EGT is not the only thing you are concerned with in the 80 hp mode. The 80hp mode runs much higher boost than the 60hp mode, thereby can decrease the life of your turbo. I don't think you will notice a hugh difference between 60 and 80hp mode when towing anyways. I've used the 60 and 80 mode on my f350 dually and do get much more turbo stall than the 60 hp mode. I run an AFE cold air in both rigs and am considering switching back to the air box w/ just the zoodad mod to decrease stalling. You will definetaly hear the stalling when you press the vehicle hard in uphill climbs. There is a preturbo to intake bypass that you can do to decrease stall but will also decrease max boost also. I hear this modification w/ chip and cold air intake has great throttle response
