Thanks Mongo. $19.95 sounds a lot cheaper than the full kit group buy one for $154. Now I'm torn |

I have checked into the front poly bushing situation extensively, because the prior owner installed poly's on the front of my 2000 and I can tell you they squeak like a ^&*%#!!! The reason I checked into it is because Energy Suspensions sells a greasable swaybar bushing setup, which includes not only the poly bushings, but a bushing saddle with a zerk fitting in it.......the only thing is: they don't make one for our factory bar size!!!
Have any of you installed Energy Suspension's non-greasable bushings on your factory front bars? If so, what are your experiences? If they've, somehow, been able to take the squeaking out, I'd like to know so I can change over. The only thing is: if their normal ones don't squeak, why do they sell a greasable setup?
Please advise.
Thanks,

I changed mine 6 months ago and still no squeaks. The only problem was the stock bolts and clips suck big time ( easy to strip ). replaced them with grade 5`s.

I thought that you were supposed to grease the bushings. Have you tried to reapply grease to your front bushings? That's what I hate about mods. There's always the chance of extra noises. |

Just ordered one from Summit racing ($145.95 total with shipping). Other than the tips stated in this thread are there any other tricks for an easy install. I have access to a drive-on hoist, so I should have easy access to everything.

WOW, I installed the swaybar and its like all the posts say, great. I previously installed superduty springs, shaved the bumpstops by an inch and installed Bilsteins. The ride was trmendously improved, but did not feel as stable in highway cruising as before the changes. The front end floated alittle side to side, not bad for a big rig by the way. The sway bar brought it all together. The unexpected inprovement is a much smother and stable tracking on washboard surfaces. I am so impressed I will research a Helwig upgrade for the front.
Has anyone upgraded the front swaybar? |

How has everyone assembled the adjustable end links?. The diagram shows them being assembled in the tightest position without having to cut them any shorter. Is this the way everyone has done it?.

I used poly bushings on my 94 bronco, no squeaks. I have only ever seen poly bushings squeak when a foriegn lube is applied. If you shoot it with lube, it will squeak, if you spill oil on it, same thing. Thats my .02 cents. Poly bushings are nice, but dont get petroleum substances on them. The greasable ones are a different material i believe. I could be wrong, i dunno.

Depends on YOUR trucks setup...
they have adjustable links because they wanted it as generic as
possible...
The key is to ensure the sway bar ends are parallel to the ground (and for SURE not pointed down so you can hook them on something !!!)
I'm trying to recall a LONG time ago when I did mine...
A hot button everyone talked about is having to move a line?
so you can mount the driver's? side end links properly... some had mounted them in the wrong holes on the frame cause it 'looked' right...
After all, you have to guess because Hellwig can't spend the 3 cents to reprint their HORRIBLE instructions !!!!
