Pulled up at the parrents and turned her off. Moved it to unload and white smoke is spewing from the exhaust, only have CAI, no other engine mods.

Continued to smoke, so shut it down, tried to leave that evening and begane to overheat, parked and towed. CHeck the oil level and couldn't see any water, etc.

Sounds to me that there is coolant getting into the combustion chamber, would explain the smoke and overheating...
We just came from a road trip a few weeks back with no problemns...

This ever happen to anyone here? Currently at a dealership under warranty... one of the later 2005s.

Thanks, DR

DReaux,

Consider yourself lucky it is being covered under warranty and I would make sure it is 100% right prior to that warranty expiring. The singular issue that I know dominates post-2002 Excursion owner worries is the head gasket. It is a known issue that started with the change from the 7.3L to the 6.0L PSD engine. It was such a huge deal Ford filed a multi-billion dollar lawsuit filed against Navistar. They settled the suit, but Navistar does not make the engine any longer. Ford moved that in house.

Good luck, it may be something simple and not the head gasket, but if it is the repair is very expensive and you will be glad to have the warranty.

Regards,

Phillip

Thanks for the info... I knew about the 6.0 PSD issues before purchasing my Ex. My day to day mechanic said to go to Ford and purchase the longest warranty I could...

Sure do miss my 2001 7.3L, trust me...
