Check your body mounts on that side.

How about greasing the slip yoke on the 2 drive shafts

You might want to check the track bar mounting brackets. I've heard of them coming lose and causing similar symtoms!

Also check the front sway bars bolts as they tend to get loose after a while! Grab a socket and give them (all nuts) a good twist.

try jacking car up and when the leafs are seperated from no weight put grease inbetween them. ford dealer said this happens to the big trucks some with the springs seizing up.

I have some clunking going on myself (2000 V-10 4x4), so can anyone tell me the process through which one can tighten the body mounts? I may be a complete dumba**, but when I looked at them, I couldn't figure out how to tighten them......

Thanks for any help,

Philly,

Does not sound like cab mounts. DNP check old thread about cab mounts. Philly, did you check sway bar? How about brake calipers, spring mounts, somethings moving. The drive shafts have to removed to grease??? properly.

I am having the same clunking sound. I took my X in on tuesday night to have a thorough once over by the Ford Techs, had it about 2 months now, and they still have it. They took care of the few little squeeks and rattles I heard, and then on to the clunking sound. It always happens for me after you drive it awhile. They have been test driving it since yesterday and it hasn't done it for them. I am waiting for the return call now. From what was posted here and on other sites and edmunds, this clunking thing sounds like it is an anomily(spell ck) with excursions. I will let you know what they tell me.
