Douglas,
Different dealers have different policies none of which seem to be in writing. If you stick with the more performance-oriented dealers (like the ones that sell SVT, Saleen, Roush, etc. vehicles) they'll be much more accomodating to servicing a vehicle with modifications as trivial as a computer chip.
BTW, I have over 70,000 miles on the computer chip in my Powerstroke Excursion. I did confirm with a couple local dealers if they would have any issue servicing the truck and they said no. One of them laughed at me because they get so much aftermarket stuff in the shop (this was the dealer that sells a lot of SVT, Saleen, etc. vehicles).
