What is everyone on the west coast doing this summer with their Ranchero? car shows, cruises, drag racing?

Hello Jeff,
Welcome!
I haven't heard any specifics on this years events other than the All Ford Picnic, June 5th, at the Bellevue Community College.
I do know that the annual N.W. Ranchero Round-Up will be in Peachland B.C. again this year but I don't have the exact date.
Send me an email for a little more direct contact, and I'll keep you up-dated as I find out more.

Sounds good! Peachland is a nice 4 hour drive from my home, and they did a lot of work on that highway last summer. Where is Bellevue and the All Ford Picnic going to be?
I missed the 50th Anniversary in Vegas-had hotel booked and everything but my '73 500 got destroyed in March and I couldn't get the new '73 GT finished in time; still dissapointed about that.
Keep in mind, there is drag racing almost every friday nite up here in Mission, BC, Canada, starting April 10th; this is a "run-what-you-brung" deal, for street legal cars with mufflers & license plates & DOT tires, geared towards folks who have never been on a race track; Mopac sponsors it, and its basically $30 for the nite and you can usually make at least 4 passes; everyone gets a time slip and the fastest cars in each class get a trophy. Great place to settle a bet or just see what she'll do in a straight line-legally!
Don't forget the Langley Cruise-In on Saturday, Sept 6th this year; there is usually about 1200 cars packed into the downtown core; they block off all the streets and line 'em up with some really nice mostly-local vintage iron (Langley is easily the hot-rod capital of Canada)! No ropes or fancy displays, so you can get real close to the cars and have a good look and take pictures (except for the crowds). There is a motorcycle (Harley) section too, if your into that also. If I remember correctly, the cars start lining up the night before, or really early in the morning and its first-come, first-served to get your car in the show. (The Cruise-in website is down at the moment, I'll try clarify these details later.)
Also, Sept 12/13 is the Brown Brothers "Mega-All-Ford" weekend at the Mission Racetrack also; this is basically a two day all-Ford car show with all-day drag races at the same time! there is always some really nice custom stuff to see and some really quick Ford iron.
I've almost got my GT finished now-going to replace the front coil springs (again! got a little carried away with the sawz-all last summer), balljoints & A-arm bushings, and install a C6 tranny with a new converter this spring and then we are ready to roll; oh, and overhaul the A.C. system-the tag on the pump says 1974 and the interior is all black vinyl!
Hey, look at this way: gas is down to $1.15/liter ($4.00/US gal) for hi-test, global warming is a farce, and the economy is in the hole, so let's drive around and spend some money and see if we can get things kick-started again! Looking forward to meeting you all and seeing your cars in person.
