I have a 2004 Excursion. This afternoon while warming up the truck to go home the door a-jar light and buzzer kept going off. It would go off and on all the way home. I've checked to make sure all the doors are shut. Has anyone else had this problem? The damn buzzer is making me nuts!

That light comes from a switch in each door's latch, and it only takes one that reads open to keep the chime going. With four side doors, two rear barn doors and the liftgate glass on an Excursion, the quickest way to find it is to sit in the truck with the light on, then go around and press firmly on each closed door, and open and slam each one. When the light goes out, you have found the latch.

The switch inside the latch can get sticky or corroded, especially in cold or wet weather, which is why it comes and goes. Spraying a penetrating lube or latch lubricant into the latch mechanism and working it a dozen times fixes many of them. If that one keeps acting up, the latch with its switch is the replacement part.
