Hello, I just bought my dream Bronco, 1988 Bronco. I have a question around two black leads from the battery negative to a small connector near the radiator...cannot see where it goes form there. Are both leads ground? Looks like one is loose

Sorry this went so long without an answer. From your photo, that two-wire plug with the crimped yellow and red butt splices is not factory. It looks like a battery charger or tender lead, or a feed someone added for an accessory. The factory negative cable runs to the engine block, with a smaller pigtail to the body.

Check it with a meter, key off: if one pin reads ground and the other reads battery voltage, it's a charger lead. Put a fuse in the power side or remove it. There's a bare, frayed wire end in the photo too, and a loose one like that can short against something.
