Someone please help!
My 1994 crown vic interceptor has been smelling like gas for a day or so after I fuel, no matter how high or low the tank is.
It seems to be from the front of the car. We cannot find a leak in the tank or line(four opinions all say no!), replaced the fuel filter twice in past four mos(filters still flow free when removed!), and replaced the o2 sensor.
How can I determine if it may be another problem without tearing the fuel injectors and related systems apart? I do not trust the knowledge of my local ford dealer repair, nonetheless will pay the ridiculous fees they charge. I have done over 70% of the repairs myself(save for the suspension and electrical), and I have a great mechanic myself who cannot seem to find the cause outside of the obvious, which he sees no problem, and as it always goes, I bring it to him and everything is always fine once the car gets there!
I am currently restoring the car and beside the a/c and a slight valve tap now and again, the car is in perfect shape, runs totally smooth, has mostly new parts, and and burns NO oil. I will tell the truth and let you know I want this car to be PERFECT and want to do what I can myself, if possible. I do not trust another's (mechanic's) opinion here in south florida, especially being female, they think I am stupid and will not be reasonable with me. I am from up north, and believe me, you havent been ripped off 'till you see a dealer in ft. lauderdale or miami....
Please help....and any info on where I can buy upgrades for my car are welcome as well. I also own a 95 t-bird lx v-8 and am a HUGE fan of both mercury and ford similar vehicles!!!!...thank you!

Jennifer,
It is always good to see someone doing the majoirity of repairs and maintenance on their own Crown Vic.
Fortunatley, I have not had this problem. However, I would recommend you post this question at:
www.crownvic.net
or
www.crownvic.us
Both of these forums have many members and odds are this topic has been tackled before.
Best of luck.
